Applications are being sought for a screen story development workshop in April 2015 in Letterkenny. Please Note: This is a four week masterclass being delivered on the evenings of 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th of April 2015 from 6.30pm - 9.30pm at Letterkenny Institute. As places are limited to 20, applications will be assessed by a panel and places awarded.

Want to transform your bright idea or personal experience into a marketable screenplay or television treatment? Then why not get a start on your script and learn about the pitching process in this exciting four-week master class where you will:

● Learn standard story structure for feature film, television and documentary

● Identify the basic qualifications of marketable stories that appeal to broad audiences

● Evolve a simple idea into a story treatment

● Work in story teams to resolve story problems, develop interesting characters, and evolve a story into a full script outline

● Craft powerful and engaging loglines and synopses

● Pitch - explore various ways to effectively interest people in your story

● Begin the process of writing a screenplay - basics of the craft: dialogue, action, visual description, pacing, and more

By the end of the class, you will have taken a story idea from rough form to a finished five-page treatment with polished logline and short synopsis, and will have worked with writing teams on the development of other stories. You will also have gotten a head start on writing your screenplay or television treatment and will gain experience working on collaborative story teams and working with direction, and will be armed with all the tools necessary to pitch your story in a professional marketplace.
